Mageknight Dungeons / Safari Ltd Civil War Bridge

I picked up a great bit of terrain for my dungeons. Its the Civil War Birdge by Safari Ltd. The part number is 650604.

The piece is of very high quality. It works really well with mage knight. My only complaint is that the slope of the bridge makes it difficult to position a character on the left or right side. I think we will work it into a gaming session by making it take up 2 movement points to reach the other side and 1 just to stand in the center.

The bottom of the piece is held on by 6 screws. After opening it up I think I may have just enough space to pack in 2 LEDs and a small battery and switch. I'll need to cut away some of the plastic, but I think it will work. My idea is to illuminate the bottom of the bridge an eerie green or blue colored light.

I picked it up at Michaels, an Arts and Crafts store, for $7.99. I was told that its a new item for them. After doing a bit of research I see that they are selling it a few dollars cheaper than anywhere else. They also tend to have coupons in the Sunday paper for 40% off most items. It might be really easy to snag one of these, with a coupon, for next to nothing.

I also picked up 3 coffins from their Halloween village shelf. Everything was 40% off and I snagged them for $2.09. They work great in my dungeon as well. They are the perfect size.

In case anyone is curious. There is a MK Apocalypse Dragon, new in the box, on eBay. The guy is asking $200 but has a best-offer button. I doubt he will take much less, it seems like he knows what he has.

Anyways, thought someone might be interested. I don't think many people are searching eBay for MK any more, and figured pointing it out might benefit someone.

for a long time i have wanted to add the dwarven forge treasure set to my MKD. i just missed the last production run of the item, before that i had no idea dwarven forge existed. so i tried my best to track one down, but this out of print set was always selling for more than $100. i finally settled on paying $100 for it, and saved up the money over a year so it ended up feeling like i had the money all along. i checked high and low for a set and could never find one. i finally saw a new listing on ebay but the guy wanted well over $200 and would not budge on the price. one night while looking at photos of the ebay listing and longing to own it, i decided to do some random google searches. wouldn't you know it, i stumbled across a site in canada who claimed to have the item in stock.

i contacted the site via their question section and received a response from the owner. he let me know that their inventory showed that they had 1 in stock. the price was $55.95 CAD not including shipping. With shipping i ended up paying just over $75 (after the exchange rate was applied).

two tense weeks later the site arrived in the mail. i can't speak highly enough about the dwarven forge expansion miniatures. they are well designed, crafted, and painted. my only complaint is that the tiny shield is missing 1 of its yellow gems, but that isn't really an issue i'm concerned with.

the set i received is on a purple felt-sprayed tray. the sets that go on ebay are on an orange tray. i'm wondering if my set is an earlier run of the product or if the color of the tray has nothing to do with it? if anyone happens to know the answer, please let me know.

Stuff / What was that one game called?

There was a table top miniature game that I wanted to hunt down awhile ago. It was a dungeon fantasy setting (as I recall) with plastic miniatures. I think it came out in the 80s. I remember that there were a bunch of fun looking expansions that only came out in Europe, making a full set of the game and expansion kind of rare. I think it was Hero something?

I just can't recall what the game was called!! Anyone have any idea what I'm trying to describe?

If you do, do you own it? Is it fun to play? I remember that it looked really cool but was a bit expensive.

Mageknight Dungeons / Grendel 28mm

some of the grendel sets look really nice. i was wondering how they fit with mageknight figures, especially the size and the 1.5 inch base.

i was also wondering what the quality of the grendel casts are? i have 1 dungeon accessory set from dwarven forge and i really love the quality. is the grendel stuff similiar? is it fragile?

Mageknight Dungeons / Bone Chillers

I've been out on the West coast for the last few months and I came across some candy machine fillers I've been using for MKD. The toys are called "Bone Chillers" and I've found them in Vegas (at the Pinball Hall of Fame) and in Frys in Nothern California. They cost $0.50, although I'm sure someone is selling blister sets online.

Here are two of the "gravestone" markers with some MKD figures:

The glow-in-the-dark piece is a harder plastic. The other gravestone maker is a rubberized composite of some type. The rubberized piece is “bendy” but stands up strongly. I also have the skull with the snakes in the mouth, and that one is pretty solid as well.

I had asked you if you could include the Holiday figures into the MKD rules. I said that I would provide scans and information. Between then and now I have had an uphill ride through life. I’m sorry that it has taken me so long to provide these scans! I hope you are still interested in doing this.

I have attached scans of the SA cards for each figure and a scan of their dial.

Additionally
Santa Claus is 401 points.
Santa Clockworkclaus is 1224 points.
Frosty the Snowminion is 1231 points

The Santa Claus stats scanned very blurry. Here is how they read…

  There is a rogue-dungeon crawler homebrew for multiple systems, I play it for both GBA and NDS, anyways they are using a tile set you made. Someone just fixed a bug so the tile set doesn't crash the game. hmm, unless it's a different ibson the grey. =P

Stuff / trading forum?

could we consider a subsection for making trades? perhaps users would need a certain post count to make use of the area. i'm also trying to think up a way to rate trades, sort of like ebay feedback. perhaps if the board can't be modded to include some type of rating script, we could just type up honest reviews of how the trade went.

i've been looking for a place to make some trades for some of the LE figs that I need. I seem to only have dragon's gate figs left for trading. If perhaps this is not the right place for this, can someone point me to an area of the web where I might be able to make some honest trades?

Mageknight Dungeons / MKD GenCon LE Figures -- Hero with no stickers?

Does anyone know if the below figs have the normal "hero stats sticker" on the bottom? I'm about to make a trade for one but the guy said it never had a sticker on it. Yet they are listed in the MKD LE list as being from the hero faction.

i just picked up 2 of the dragons (shadow and venomous) which are shipping w/o a box and the instruction sheets. i have the instructions from the radiant light dragon. i'm curious if there is a difference in anyway between the different dragons besides the point values on the bottom. if so does anyone have copies of the dragon rules they can share?

This INDY black and white gem is a story of overcoming depression and adversity in a world that doesn't always make much sense to those surviving in it. The setting is a fantastical city of mischief, mayhem, confusion, friendships, and underground cannibal religious movements. The art is carefully drawn and mixes a simple ‘cartoon’ style with thick lines and deep shadows. Cathy Malkasian has done a tribute to the sequential art medium, making this one of the books that should be on your book shelf.

Fantagraphics has again put together another fine package, making the book feel like a unique experience while you hold it in your hands. The Hardbound cover, tough spine and oversize pages feel just right while you read.

Many funny moments arise between Percy and his Mother – a famous inventor. Percy is full of questions which bring on panic and other anxiety issues. It is almost as if his personality is a bit of everyone. I found it very easy to get lost in this story and did not long for it to end.

At $18.95 it competes with other trades on the rack. If you are a Marvel or DC fanboy I plead with you to step outside the superhero genre and give something fantastical a chance. There are so much more to comics than the style of books that America made popular.

i haven't been here and posted in a very long time. i lost every friend i had who was even slightly interested in mage knight, yet i still collect 3d models, custom tile sets, and gaming mats in the hope that i'll find interest again.

today at the comic book store i work at i was flipping through the new previews catalogue and found the image below. sorry about the crap scan, thats another story =).

the info at the top says:
Paizo Publishing LLC
24x30 each mat
1 inch squares

The description says they are laminated card stock that can handle dry erase, wet erase, and permanent marker. there isn't any other included info and i didn't do any research on these. so i don't know if the 'flip' in flipmap means they are 2 sided or not. each kit is 12.99 and was featured in the July 2008 previews catalogue. If you live near a comic book store and they carry marvel and dc they order from previews. there are no other way to get those books in any longer in this industry. so you can order these at stores that have a diamond account.

previews does not offer any online orders you must order from a diamond account holder. you can find a local comic book shop near you by calling 1-888 Comic Book or heading to www.comicshoplocator.com.

MK Minions are part of MK 2.0?

I'm curious because they look like a great way to add magespawn to the MKD game. If they are 2.0 what has changed what would cause complications while trying to implement them? Are the SA different?
