Delta's Grey Knights
« on: February 21, 2011, 05:06:40 AM »
Hi everyone. A year ago, my friends introduced me to 40k and I fell in love with the Grey Knights.  Now that they have a new codex coming out, I feel like it was fate. heheh

Here are a few GKs [metal and converted] that I've been working on.

These guys are plastic with metal force weapons and scratch-built storm bolters:

We have a couple of GKs with psycannons converted from plasma cannons:

Metal GKs:

Group shot!

This guy is for my friend [gift for his birthday]

I hope you like them and any tips on where to go with the metallics will be appreciated.  I'm thinking of a Boltgun Metal base darkened a little with Chaos Black then layering until Mithril Silver as the topmost highlight.

Cheers!

Here are some updates:

A wash of Future/water (50/50) and some Chaos Black was applied to the converted GKs.

The same was done to the GK gift.

Work was also started on the purity seals of the above models.  Scorched brown and Scab red were applied.

I also am posting a few pictures of a GK Termie I'm working on.

Please feel free to give constructive criticism. :)

Cheers!

Here are a few updates folks.

Here, I've basecoated my Grey Knights with 2 parts Chaos Black, 1 part Boltgun Metal, then washed with 1 part Future, 1 part water, 1 part Chaos Black:

Here are the metal Grey Knights basecoated and washed the same way:

More to come after I get some sleep.  Got work in the morning.

Cheers!

Hi folks,

Here is another update.  Metals are almost done.  The finish is a bit grainy because the primer was not sprayed on properly. :(  I'm hoping that a layer of Future will even it out.

Please feel free to offer suggestions on how to proceed.

Cheers!

Late to post but those are looking great.  The new Grey Knights certainly look awesome and very tempting.

Hi folks, here are some updates for today 04/24/11:

Grey Knights

Below is a close up of one of them; I don't have much time to take more pictures tonight. :)

Grey Knights Rhino (This is my first time painting a vehicle...)

Please don't hesitate to give constructive feedback on how I can make my army look better than table-top quality.

Hi folks,

I'm looking for advice on what color the bases of my minis should be.  Here's one idea:

Here's the progress on my terminator/Librarian:

Still so much work to be done... Please share your thoughts.

UPDATE:

Been working on my Psyflemen Dreadnoughts and am having trouble with attaching the parts to each other and the 50% GW parts condition for conversions.

I was thinking of putting pins into the upper thighs then sticking them into putty which would be placed into the lower legs. Any other thoughts on how to do this?  I was also thinking of how I could do the pelvic area.  Maybe I should just use the GW parts?

Cheers!

I removed the white pegs and put a couple of sprue pieces in their place to attach the legs:

Here are the autocannons:

Here are the dreads partly assembled:

C&C is welcomed and appreciated.

Cheers!

Here are the progress pics:

I'm not very sure about the rivets. They seem too big and irregularly shaped so I'm thinking of pinheads instead.  Shading could use some work too.  Suggestions, folks? :)

Cheers!

It is looking really good so far.  I do agree with you that pin heads may look better.  If the legs were more angular then the rivets your using would look good.

The last couple of photos shows what I've done with the pins.  C&C are welcome.
