I bought this, and it rocks!!

Fact: the bases on the figs are the exact same size as the D&D miniatures bases. Hasbro owns both companies. Do I smell crossover??

The game has an awesome modular gameboard, which you can set up to match a specific scenario, or make your own. Multiple sets can be combined, and expansions are planned, possibly with characters being sold randomly in sealed packages (i don't know that for a fact, but it makes sense…)

The plastic minis are durable and pre-painted, to the same standard as the D&D mins, and some of the sculpts are pretty cool. Hopefully they will listen to my Emails and put out a special edition of the figs in pewter so that I may paint them. At $40, this would make a great Christmas gift to your +8 year old.
