Rhino MK II Greebled
« on: February 10, 2012, 08:20:33 AM »
I recolored Eli Patoroch's Rhino MK II to fit with my Harald Deathwolf company for my Space Wolves.  This will be the only one I do with interiors as I was curious on how well I could do it.  The next one will be done minus the interiors.

I had several reasons for making this.
  • I printed it out knowing my computer was about to fail
  • I enjoy building paper models
  • After purchasing a new computer I will not be able to afford the £20.00 plus for GW vehicles for awhile.
  • I've never made a paper model with greebled affects

As soon as my computer arrives I will be recolouring Razorbacks with extra armor plates and some Land Raiders.

Looking pretty good HP. Could you choose to paint it in exactly matching colors as you army so that it would look just like a GW one or wouldn't it hold up.

Cheers!

I'm sure it would hold up.  It is really durable!  But I printed it in my colours so I don't have to muck around with painting.

I HATE painting.  I like building and assembling.

Working on a Razorback MKII for my Longfangs squad.  I will eventually get a real plastic one but I would rather purchase the new Space Wolves models first.

I've also had to make Vectored decals such as Harald Deathwolf's great company symbol

That's the one thing printed paper models will have over the real one, you can certainly have much more detailed graphics than you could ever hop to paint, even decals wont get to that level unless you can somehow print those at home as well. I know I used to use printed on paper flags for my models that just looked so much more awesome than I could paint.

Looking good as usual!

Cheers!

Okay I'm done with my first one.  Here are the major problems that I will have to fix on my next one.

The cover that goes over the Heavy Bolters is too short, probably due to the thickness of my cardstock.

Both sides of the Chassis is too short, again probably due to my cardstock.

The small tabs that go on the door, I'm going to redesign them to go through the door, glued on from the back.  This will increase their stability.  On the half built Rhino I made they all broke off.

I messed the tracks up big time.  They seem longer than they need to be.

I have parts left over due to them not being on the instructions.

I'll never use em but they're still neat looking. Keep it up mate!
