Hi folks
I recently just started playing WFB. I play Chaos Warriors.
I started off by getting the Battalion set so I have
5 Chaos Knights
20 Chaos Marauders
10 Chaos Warhounds
12 Warriors of Chaos
I have added
1 Exalted Hero
5 Chaos Sorcerers
1 Khorne lord on a Juggernought
1 Sorcerer lord on the Disk of Tzeetch
15 Marauder Horsemen
And just for the heck of it I got another battalion box set, so another
5 Chaos Knights
20 Chaos Marauders
10 Chaos Warhounds
12 Warriors of Chaos
I can now field an effective 2000 point army.
I'm now looking to add some Chaos Ogres or other such creatures to make things a little more entertaining.
I had previoulsy stayed away from WFB because the painting intimidated me. But since I started painting, I find I enjoy it more than I though I would. I still don't paint all that well. But my painted figs look as good as any prepainted fig I have used in the past. My painting is not professional quality in any stretch of the imagination, but the effect on the battle field is good. I like to think I "paint for effect" rather than detail.
I get to play WFB on a regular basis. We have a GWS store near us that holds open gaming on the week ends. We also play for position "on the board." I believe GamesWorkshop has a name for it, but I don't remember the official name. It's good to be able to play a mini-game again. I was/am a huge MageKnight fan, but don't get to play at all anymore.
Kind Regards,
SlowDancer
