Stuff / HeroClix
« on: February 26, 2013, 02:17:37 AM »
Okay so I'm a little slow on the jump on this.  My kids have become more and more addicted to Marvel so I've bought a HeroClix starter set.  Do you guys know of any place that sells them fairly cheap.  If they are outside of the UK they would need to have cheap international shipping.  Some places really gut it to you with the lower weight international packages.

  • 5 wolf guard, 2 fully built and 3 partially built.

I'm waiting for another auction I won that includes

Which retails for £105.00 and I won them for £38.00.

Stuff / Tablets
« on: August 19, 2012, 12:50:21 AM »
So I bought a tablet for school.  The ASUS Transformer Prime 201.  I call it Optimus  ;D

It is a nice tablet, better than the iPad IMHO as it comes with a keyboard docking station that also has a battery in it.  So when it is plugged into the docking station you get about 18 hours of battery.  Despite all the reviews of defective Wii Fi and GPS mine works fine.  It has a mini SD card in the tablet, a normal SD Card in the docking station and a USB port in the docking station.

My biggest problem is that it is an Android.  I really wanted something that could run Microsoft Word on it.  Mainly for OneNote.  There is a OneNote App but it is nowhere near as good as the program.  But at least I can view the notes I have made.

It comes with a Note Taking App and a program to use MS Word, Power Point and Excel.  Not as many APPS as an Apple but hopefully that will change.

I had wanted the ASUS B121 but at £900, 4 hour battery life and the weight of it I had to say no.  However it is more of a Laptop in power and function then a tablet.

Mageknight Dungeons / Dungeon Crawlers Quest?
« on: August 03, 2012, 02:33:43 AM »
Take a look at the Casualty bases here

http://www.warbases.co.uk/#/accessories/4533097200

I was thinking of creating a DC game kind of in the lines of MKD, or Dungeon Quest or Rune Quest but be specific for what we like.  The main part of any game is the mechanics.  Miniatures and other stuff is just accessories.  So what I propose is designing a game and selling the bases, cards and rules but allowing the player to use ANY miniature they want.

Right now I'm thinking Hex based miniatures but I have not decided on grid or rulers.  What do you guys think?

Paper Terrain & Models / Rhino MK II Greebled
« on: February 10, 2012, 08:20:33 AM »
I recolored Eli Patoroch's Rhino MK II to fit with my Harald Deathwolf company for my Space Wolves.  This will be the only one I do with interiors as I was curious on how well I could do it.  The next one will be done minus the interiors.

I had several reasons for making this.
  • I printed it out knowing my computer was about to fail
  • I enjoy building paper models
  • After purchasing a new computer I will not be able to afford the £20.00 plus for GW vehicles for awhile.
  • I've never made a paper model with greebled affects

As soon as my computer arrives I will be recolouring Razorbacks with extra armor plates and some Land Raiders.

Rob,

As soon as my new computer comes in I'm going to have a few articles to put up on Terrain Monster.

  • 40K Barricade and Fence - with templates
  • City Fight buildings - with templates
  • Modular Sci-Fi Fortress - with templates
  • Plasma Generator - with templates
  • MDF Board hills

These will be picture heavy and the pdf's will say brought to you by Dungeon Crawlers & Terrain Monster with embedded links.  Do you want them one a month or every two weeks?

Mixed Media / 40 K Barricade/Fence
« on: January 15, 2012, 01:04:05 PM »
This is straining the limits of my net book but since my main computer is down I'm going to work on this project.  I just purchased a six hole rotary punch to make rivets for this.

The fence will be made with wire (unless I can find some rubber tubing the same size), the main part of the structure will be 5mm PVC board (you could substitute with foam board).  Card stock, pizza boxes, straws, plastic tubing will also be used.

I will place a big "How To" on Terrain Monster on how to assemble this modular fence/barricade.  The gate will be made available in two sizes 2 inch and 3 inch, you can place them side by side to make any length you want.

Mixed Media / Space Marine Armoury
« on: January 02, 2012, 01:05:04 AM »
I'm trying my hand at Bugbait's Space Marine Armoury.  Now the only thing I had on hand was some cardstock, pizza boxes and wooden skewers.  As I'm using pizza boxes and not 5mm foam board I had to make some alterations to the design.  I also made a very newbie mistake by forgetting to invert one of the sides so it's off centre.

I cut out the main building as one piece.  This makes it more solid.

It has taken me most of the day to make this and I will get some more done soon and update with pictures
